DEA Meeting: Your Web Guys.Net

Your Web Guys.Net

Richard Kinney introduced Ashley Kinney, the new Sales Development Representative for Your Web Guys!  She will be representing their company at the DEA!  Welcome, Ashley!

Usually a company's goal with their website is to make money.  The DEA's goals are to get new members, service existing members, and help members get more out of the DEA, which ultimately helps us keep members.  Richard shared with us about some of the functionality in our website, ways we can use it and some of the benefits we can get from it.

The large promo sliders on the home page show announcements about meetings or events, and you can select “learn more” to get more information about that event.  On top of any calendar that is displayed, there is a little button that looks like a speaker.  If you click that button, it will subscribe your calendar and every event the DEA has will be on your calendar now and in the future, automatically.  That allows you to participate with the DEA more effectively!

On almost every event page or blog post there is an area for a “reply”.  This is important because the Google bot, which searches pages and returns the search results, is trying to build opinions.  Google bot develops opinions from human interaction and looks for “compelling content”.…

Dr. Paul's Challenge!

In 2012, when Dr. Paul Chafetz joined the DEA, we had 86 members; now we have 47.  Business success is not based on how many Facebook friends you have.  It is based on how many quality referral partners you have:  how many relationships you have with people who already know, like and trust you and have access to the perfect customer you are looking for.  We are missing out on the synergy of having good referral partners.  We are looking for younger, vigorous business people who are totally at home in the world of SnapChat and Twitter, but also understand that business success is based on relationships.  We need them and they need us.  For us to reach 2020 as the vibrant and robust business engine the DEA can and should be, the time to find our new members is now!

Dr. Paul provided a list of the open categories he could think of; you are welcome to add more!  Every one of you knows at least one younger business person who fits into one of these categories.  Commit to contacting them in the next two or three weeks!

Bringing in new members is how we protect our investment!  The Board can't do it alone; only we can do it!

What was that for?

Barbara Scribner presented Ted Biggers with $100 cash for bringing in a new member!  We still have the new member incentive in place:  sponsor a new member and you will receive $100 cash when they become a member!

It's your turn to do a program!

We are currently scheduling presentations for 2018!  We have 3 open dates in January and 2 open dates in February.
